¨ Quinn House

 

The Quinn House was founded by John and Carrol Quinn because they recognized a great need in Gwinnett County to assist individuals and families.  Their ministry started when they began bringing homeless families into their home.  Twenty-five years later, their ministry has grown to assist hundreds of people in Gwinnett County and other ares of the state.  Quinn House includes a residential program, food bank and thrift stores.  Three houses supported by Quinn House in Gwinnett County provide house for homeless individuals and families.  The licensed food bank operates from the downtown Lawrenceville location, assisting individuals and families with boxes of food.  Additionally, Quinn House’s Senior Food Box program provides local senior citizens a box of food once a month to supplement their limited incomes.  The thrift store helps people in need with donated clothing, furniture, appliances and household items.  People who successfully complete the residential program are provided items to establish their new homes.  The Quinn House is located at 120 South Perry Street in downtown Lawrenceville.  The thrift store, Dove’s Nest, is located at 516 West Crogan Street, Lawrenceville.

 

¨ Habitat for Humanity

 

Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Since 1988, we have partnered with families in need of decent housing to create more hopeful futures in Gwinnett County, Georgia. We build homes using primarily volunteer labor and funds supplied by sponsors from the business and faith community. ¨ Toys 4 Tots

 

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.  The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.  The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

¨ Paws Atlanta

 

PAWS Atlanta provides love, nutrition, medical care, basic training and enriches the lives of orphaned pets until permanent, safe homes can be found.  It is our mission to promote responsible pet care , prevent pet overpopulation, and enhance the pet-human bond.  PAWS Atlanta is a 501(c)(3) private, nonprofit No-Kill humane society governed by a Board of Directors comprised of volunteers from the community who are dedicated to animal welfare.  PAWS Atlanta provides housing, food and medical care, for adoptable cats and dogs.  For more information about PAWS Atlanta visit their website at http://pawsatlanta.org/Default.aspx
